Try gourmet burgers from more than 20 of the best restaurants as they compete to win the "Best Burger" award. Of course no burger is complete without a beer! Enjoy unlimited beer samples from 30+ local breweries. Curated exclusively by our food writers, this event brings together the very best burger vendors and local breweries — and you decide who will ultimately win. Each attendee will be given a token to place in a voting box on the table of their favorite vendor. The vendor who receives the most tokens wins.

His catch phrase was I'll gladly pay you Tuesday for a burger today! That stuck with me during my college years and military years. Over the past few years family and friends periodically asked "Why dont you open your own food truck since you love burgers so much"? But the question was what do we call the business? Well that's where Laura comes in. She and I were hanging out at the beach one day and I made a statement "Isn't this awesome? We are just on the beach bummin' out." And she turned to me and said, "Thats it! Beach Bums Burgers!

Common Theory Public House

After being a professional DJ for about 8 years, he decided to take his love & dedication of food to the next level by attending Le Cordon Bleu in Pasadena in ’07. Once he graduated, he worked at some of the best restaurants around LA: Providence Restaurant (chef de Partie; Monsieur Marcel (Executive Sous Chef); Joe’s Restaurant in Abbott Kinney (Chef de Partie); Hatfield’s (Chef de Tournant); CASA Restaurant (Executive Sous Chef); as well as stints with Spago and Wolfgang Puck Catering. Abnormal Beer Company

Abnormal Beer Company is a small microbrewery located in Rancho Bernardo, San Diego County. The glass-enclosed brewery is located under the same roof as a winery, beer/wine bar, and restaurant serving highly refined comfort food. The brewery currently has a 10bbl brewhouse with four 20bbl uni-tanks and will sell its products inside the restaurant and to select beer bars locally. The Head Brewer and Beer Curator for the draft list is Derek Gallanosa. Derek Gallanosa has a well rounded skillset that he applies to multiple aspects of the business. While pursuing a Business Degree in Marketing from Cal State University, San Marcos, Derek taught himself how to brew beer after witnessing his friend’s dad homebrew in his backyard. After graduation he put his efforts into finding a job in the Craft Beer Industry. After months of looking he was finally given an opportunity by Karl Strauss Brewing Company in San Diego. During his four years there, Derek worked his way up from Assistant Brewer to Brewer to Sales Representative. It was then when the owners of Abnormal Wine Company started to look for someone with experience to run their soon to be brewing operations.

As founder of Common Cider, Fran Toves was inspired into the cider realm by a simple desire: to utilize her foodies’ passion for flavor experimentation and her love of shared times to create something rare and delicious. Her dream was a portfolio of ciders painstakingly designed to pair beautifully with food while moving people to find common ground and celebrate the simple act of being human. In 2012, Fran shared her dream with the world at homebrew competition in Reno, NV. And the response, three ciders placing in the top 10, was all the validation she needed to go all in. Thus Common Cider was born. In Fran’s world, flavor is everything. Surprising flavor, adventurous flavor, flavor as gift to one’s family and friends. Matt, one of our owners, has Celiac Disease, so rather than sob in a soda, he rectified the situation. And the Heavens opened and there was much rejoicing. Yay. Currently under new management here at Quantum Brewing. Martin Beaulieu has owned this establishment since mid-August and is now serving some of San Diego's newest beers and experimenting with new flavors that promise to excite the beer enthusiasts and casual drinkers alike. The Lost Abbey Brewing

Founded in 2006, Port Brewing Company produces a broad line of award-winning American beers as well as the groundbreaking Lost Abbey family of Belgian-inspired ales.
